The Savage is Back and Trill as Ever

If you have ever popped in a Trill Fam artist album or mixtape you are automatically hype from start to finish. No matter whose main project it is you will find collabos' from damn near everybody from Trill Fam, but with the lost of Lil Phat and Lil Boosie still incarcerated I personally found the most recent mixtape from Webbie, "Sweet Jones Jr",(Link to that Review Below) had fallen short to what I had enjoyed as a Webbie fan. I was anxious and anticipated a better body of work with "Savage Life 4" which dropped today. I must say I am happy and proud to announce that Webbie is back! From the moment I heard "I'm Back" start I knew my ears were going to be pleasantly pleased. Not only was it classic Webbie he was letting the fans in to what had been transpiring for the last few months and year. As always Webbie delivers his street anthems, as well as his raunchy yet sexy street ballads for the ladies. I love it when an artist really puts so much time and dedication into a project that it shows from start to finish. He did amazing collabos' with Blake, Lil Phat, Lil Trill and Lloyd. With his fire beats being produced solely by J. Reid and Trae Beats Productions. I have included a list of my favorites off the album and strongly encourage all true Webbie fans to press play.I think this was a great way to bring on the new year as it was originally suppose to be released October 1st of this year.I expect to hear Webbie's voice coming out most car speakers for the next few weeks, even months as this one like the other three "Savage Life" installations were straight fire. If you would like to buy or listen to SL4 and witness the come back of greatness there is a link below. Also I have included the Track List which is for the Deluxe Edition and it is just three bonus songs (18-20). The Deluxe Edition is available on iTunes for $11.99 or $1.29 per song.#SL4 is that snap, crackle and pop, Webbie is back! I hope you all enjoyed my review of an instant classic and enjoy listening to the album as much as I did.

Get familiar with EG: Lyrically an Educated Gangster

E.G Lyrical is an Independent Hip Hop artist from Saint Petersburg, Fl who specializes in creating lyrical and upbeat music with political aware undertones. E.G stands for Educated Gangster and his relatable lyrics and intricate story telling further supports his name.  E.G began his deeply rooted relationship with music at the age of six when he began taking classical piano lessons and doing recitals. At the age of thirteen he began writing Hip Hop lyrics and since then has been using his pen to make music that fits every mood. While still remaining true to what he believes in.  If he had to name those who motivate him he would name his doubters or skeptics. “They told me I couldn’t make music, so I did it my way” E.G explains. When asked about why he is passionate about music, he responded by simply saying " I feel like I'm what the game is missing." When asked about his influences in his music E.G said "I have been influenced by mostly southern rap and of course Tupac and Biggie, I was raised on those two a long with Parliament of Funk and Outkast. I’m just more of an old school hip hop fan and I try to bring that feel to my music” EG does exactly that with his music by using phenomenal word play and an intellectual twist to his lyrics. In his song "Litte Child Running Wild" he samples the late Curtis Mayfield's song and invokes your brain to think.
E.G is slated to release his Freshman Ep/Album soon and it is sure to impact the state of Hip Hop due to his clean and rugged Flow. When asked what he expects from his freshman EP, EG said "I expect my freshman ep to be highly produced working with producers like Tango and other local producers to create a professional studio ep/mixtape to compete with the major and international markets." Besides being the next up and coming Hip Hop artist EG is also a business man. Being the mastermind behind Lyrical Hustler Ent building a solid team and giving fellow artist and entrepreneurs a place to further develop their crafts. Seems that EG Lyrical has no intentions of slowing down anytime soon. With major projects in the works. This is an artist that you can not overlook.  Stay tuned to see what Big Things he will do next!

Can I be your Motivation?

I think everybody is entitled to their opinions and can voice that opinion but it's not a requirement that everyone has to follow that opinion. They're formulating their own opinion about the situation. I often ask myself why I am doing this? and what is it that I hope to gain from this? I mean those are both great questions but my answer is always why not? I’m young, ambitious and my determination is apparent. No matter who you are and what you do, people will find anything to stifle your stance.  We often don't realize it until the damage is already done. And then we are faced with our biggest challenge, which is getting back up. We must remember that tomorrow is a new day and that there will come a day that critical people will find themselves amongst their own critics. I am Ms. Street Cred is growing daily and as others see me as just another promoter or just another blogger, this may be true in their opinion but to the people that rock with me and those that personally know me they know my truest potential. I have started something that I created with hope to succeed beyond my wildest imagination with it. I hope to build a brand that I am proud of and that my supporters will be glad to be a part of. Had I not made that first move to even start, where would I be? I often think about that. I honestly cannot tell you. Probably still wishing and hoping. Just because I told myself I could and I am my biggest motivator, I have made changes and been implementing actions that will assist me with moving forward on my path to greatness. I can honestly say I wasn’t always the type to walk up and talk to a random person but my jobs and my infectious personality have proven to be great assets in the lifestyle that I have chosen to live and the future business ventures that I want to jump start. I am proud of myself for actually done things I wouldn't normally do and really pressing the boundaries as far as a box is concerned. I pray that whoever takes the time to read this brief post finds encouragement in my words and never stops trying! Falling is definitely half the battle but getting back up shows real strength.

Kendrick Lamar is in Control (My take on the K.L Control verse)

So I said I would give my take on that infamous Kendrick Lamar "Control" verse and here it is... Kudos!!!! Mr. Lamar, for challenging these rap cats! I mean come on a little healthy competition is always good. Now I've heard quite a few responses to his verse and I say to the responders "ok, cool you responded, now what are you going to do now to heighten your music?" I mean because clearly he was calling folks out because he knows their potential, have seen their work, and he has actually worked with a few of them before this project. I know Big Sean was like "damn man, I gave him a verse on my record and he murdered it.” I like how everybody is all in a frenzy about not liking it because he named dropped some of his peers, but what you gone do about it? I don't think it's a cause of alarm to beef, tweef, or any other hater inspired action. I do think it calls for rappers to really come with their A game. Sure we know your quantity of work but what is your quality? I want to see more rappers use their minds to lyrically transport me into their rhymes like Biggie or Tupac. I want to feel that you eat, shit, and bleed the shit that you talking about. He mentioned J. Cole and personally I love dudes records and did I mention Born Sinner came out the same day as Yezzus and I listened only once to Kanye's before I just rocked with J. Cole's. I honestly feel like Kendrick Lamar saw this as a personal way to reach his colleagues that he does feel is influential in the rap game. I mean actual rappers. Not bubble gum rappers, not the Kmart Kid rappers even though they sound better than some mainstream guys. The fact that Kendrick Lamar took it to that level shows he's ballsy and isn't afraid to strike a nerve. He definitely did that and I hope that will jump start the heartbeat of rap again. It needed that defibrillator called Kendrick. Above I have included the control song for those of you that apparently live under a rock. I have also included some of the responses from various rappers below.

The infamous lyrics for your viewing purposes:
[Bridge: Kendrick Lamar]
Miscellaneous minds are never explainin' their minds
Devilish grin for my alias aliens to respond
Peddlin' sin, thinkin' maybe when you get old you realize
I'm not gonna fold or demise
(I don't smoke crack, motherfucker I sell it!)
Bitch, everything I rap is a quarter piece to your melon
So if you have a relapse, just relax and pop in my disc
Don't pop me no fucking pill, I'mma a pop you and give you this

[Verse 2: Kendrick Lamar]
Tell Flex to drop a bomb on this shit
So many bombs, ring the alarm like Vietnam in this shit
So many bombs, make Farrakhan think Saddam in this bitch
One at a time, I line 'em up and bomb on they mom while she watchin' the kids
I'm in a destruction mode if the gold exists
I'm important like the pope, I'm a muslim on pork
I'm Makaveli's offspring, I'm the king of New York
King of the Coast, one hand, I juggle them both
The juggernaut's all in your jugular, you take me for jokes
Live in the basement, church pews and funeral faces
Cartier bracelets for my women friends I'm in Vegas
Who the fuck y'all thought it's supposed to be?
If Phil Jackson came back, still no coachin' me
I'm uncoachable, I'm unsociable
Fuck y'all clubs, fuck y'all pictures, your Instagram can gobble these nuts
Gobble dick up 'til you hiccup, my big homie Kurupt
This the same flow that put the rap game on a crutch
I've seen niggas transform like villain Decepticons
Mollies'll prolly turn these niggas to fuckin' Lindsay Lohan
A bunch of rich ass white girls lookin' for parties
Playin with Barbies, wreck the Porsche before you give 'em the car key
Judgement to the monarchy, blessings to Paul McCartney
You called me a black Beatle, I'm either that or a Marley
(I don't smoke crack motherfucker I sell it)
I'm dressed in all black, this is not for the fan of Elvis
I'm aimin' straight for your pelvis, you can't stomach me
You plan on stumpin' me? Bitch I've been jumped before you put a gun on me
Bitch I put one on yours, I'm Sean Connery
James Bonding with none of you niggas, climbing 100 mil in front of me
And I'm gonna get it even if you're in the way
And if you're in it, better run for Pete's sake
I heard the barbershops spittin' great debates all the time
Bout who's the best MC? Kendrick, Jigga and Nas
Eminem, Andre 3000, the rest of y'all
New niggas just new niggas, don't get involved
And I ain't rockin no more designer shit
White T's and Nike Cortez, this is red Corvettes anonymous
I'm usually homeboys with the same niggas I'm rhymin' wit
But this is hip hop and them niggas should know what time it is
And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big KRIT, Wale
Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake
Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller
I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you niggas
Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas
They dont wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas
What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it? You better off tryna skydive
Out the exit window of 5 G5's with 5 grand
With your granddad as the pilot he drunk as fuck tryna land
With the hand full of arthritis and popping prosthetic leg
Bumpin Pac in the cockpit so the shit that pops in his head
Is an option of violence, someone heard the stewardess said
That your parachute is a latex condom hooked to a dread

Meet Emily Berkey

With ambition and determination 23 year old Oregon based Emily Berkey has been interviewing for a year and a half and has build a really nice resume' with some well known hip hop artist. In college she was the director of promotions at the college radio station and the host of Sunday night hip hop slow jams. She is currently the social media and marketing director at a record label in Portland. Emily B has made tremendous strides to further herself. Like previously stated she has interviewed quite a few of the rappers we see on MTV Jams and other music based programs. She has been building a name for herself by asking everyone on her twitter and Instagram to help her become a reporter for RevoltTv, a new music network started by the most successful business man in the industry, Sean P Diddy Combs. Emily was nice enough to oblige my request to feature her in E2TS. She is very sweet and out going. I hope every reader takes a moment to help her reach her ultimate dream  by tweeting or posting an IG pic with the hash-tag #revoltreporter and at her name @emily_berkey. Emily was gracious enough to answer a few questions so below are my questions and her answers. Enjoy!

[MSC]: What inspires you to do what you do?

[Emily]: Music has always been a key part of my life. Once I began interviewing artists, and saw how quickly I could achieve the goals I had set for myself, I became crazy driven. Seeing myself accomplish big tasks drives me to keep doing what I'm doing.

[MSC]: How did you get started in your chosen profession?

[Emily]: I didn't want to pay to go to a too short show at my university, so I volunteered to help out. My job was to transport too short from the airport to the venue, and too his hotel. I had my friend bring a recorder, I walked up to too short once we were at the venue and asked if I could interview him for my radio show (I hosted Sunday night hip hop slow jams at my university). He agreed to an interview and a random photographer came up to us an filmed it. From there, I had a vision of how much bigger I could make these opportunities. And I'm still at it.

[MSC]:Did you see yourself doing what you are doing now?

[Emily]: I see myself doing what i am doing, only on a bigger platform with more of an impact. I've left interviews where the artist was saying oh I shouldn't have said that. That was too much. Can u edit that out. I want to show people these uncensored artists.

[MSC]: Favorite saying, quote, or advice you can never forget?

[Emily]:Part of my family is Jewish, and escaped persecution in the Holocaust. My great grandmother would tell everyone "learn, learn, learn, because your education is the only thing no one can ever take away from you". This has always stuck with me. My eyes and ears are always open to new ideas and ways of thinking because of my family influence.

Meet ... Minorities Oppressed Still Strugglin Blacks Uniting Real Niggas

Hailing all the way from Muskegon, Michigan; MossBurn, an acronym for “Minorities Oppressed Still Struggling Blacks Uniting Real Niggas” Has been making headway with his most recent mixtape “You Already Know What It Is – Volume One”. In spite of  Muskegon being one of the worst regions in America in regards to unemployment, MossBurn remains focused, as demonstrated by his smooth wordplay, deep, and intricate lyrics, and a blue collar work ethic that enables him to push himself harder, further, and faster, in a part of the world that has seemingly fallen into a mass standstill. MossBurn credits his deceased mother as his biggest influence on his music. When asked what drives him to make music he says his family and not to mention he loves making music. I listened to a few of his songs prior to listening to his sound cloud songs and I love his tracks “The Weatherman and “Flexxin”. His beats really make the tracks and compliment his lyrics well. When asked what he considers his genre of music he said “It’s Count music, that’s trap music on a whole other level.” MossBurn is making strides to rise and understands it takes persistence and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. When asked what separates him from other rappers in his area or in the mainstream he replied with a confident and very sure of himself answer by saying “That’s simple! I’m actually good at it. That’s what separates me from the rest.” I love his confidence and wish him nothing but the best as he continues to make a name for himself and adding his name to an already exclusive list of Michigan Emcees. I have included his sound cloud information so you can check that out, as well as the audio video for his track Flexxin. I hope my readers and passer byers enjoy this Artist Spotlight and show Mossburn some love!

NO JUSTICE NO PEACE

I AM QUITE AWARE THAT MY BLOG IS FOR MUSIC BUT BEING THE OWNER AND WRITER OF THESE HERE WORDS I THINK IT WOULD BE WRONG FOR ME NOT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FUCK SHIT OF THE GEORGE ZIMMERMAN CASE. I MEAN COME ON!!!! WE KNOW HE DID IT, ALL THIS EVIDENCE AND DUDE WALKS? MAN I BY NO MEAN HATE WHITE PEOPLE OR BLAME WHITE PEOPLE. IT WOULD BE IGNORANT FOR ME TO JOIN IN THE OTHER DUMMIES WHO REALLY PULLED THE RACE CARD AND RAN WITH IT. ONCE THEY RELEASED THAT GEORGE

ZIMMERMAN WAS HISPANIC THAT SHIT SHOULD HAVE JUST DIED DOWN. HE, HIMSELF IS A MINORITY AND SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE DIFFICULTIES AS A MINORITY BUT GIVEN THAT HE WENT ABOVE AND CLEARLY FUCKING BEYOND HIS CALL OF DUTY IS THE ISSUE. I'M MAD THAT EVEN IN THE UNITED STATES, aka THE LAND OF THE FREE, WE HAVE INNOCENT MEN SITTING BEHIND BARS WITH HUNDRED YEARS. WHILE SOMEONE WHO TOOK THE LIFE OF AN UNARMED TEENAGER IS FREE TO SMILE AT A POST PRESS CONFERENCE AND GO HOME. SYBRINA FULTON AND TRACY MARTIN WILL NEVER SEE THEIR SON CRACK ANOTHER SMILE OR GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL. GEORGE ZIMMERMAN ROBBED THEM OF THAT. AND CLEARLY ROBBERY IS A CRIME AS WELL. WTF!!! I KNOW IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH MY FEELINGS IN THIS CASE AND THIS WILL FOREVER RESONATE TO ME. TO ME ITS BIGGER THAN 911 THIS WAS A MOMENT IN HISTORY THAT WE LEARNED THAT THE LIFE OF A DOG IS MORE VALUABLE THEN THE LIFE OF A HUMAN BEING. I HOPE THOSE JURORS AND THE MURDERED GEORGE ZIMMERMAN CAN SLEEP AT NIGHT. THIS CASE LITERALLY HURTS MY HEART AND SINCE THIS IS STILL A MUSIC BLOG I WANT TO END THIS OFF WITH A SONG BY YOUNG JEEZY CALLED It'S A Cold World. ILL POST A LINK TO THAT VIDEO AS WELL AS A VIDEO THAT I INFORMED A FEW OF MY FB FRIENDS TO CHECK OUT. IT IS QUITE EXPLICIT AND SHOULD NOT BE VIEWED BY MINORS OR THE FAINT OF HEART. #JUSTICEFORTRAYVON #NOJUSTICENOPEACE #WEARETRAYVON #FEB26 #YOUNGJEEZY #RNS
