#LongLiveShawtyLo|RIP Shawty Lo

 March 31 1976 - September 21, 2016

With heavy hearts Ear 2 The Streets has to report that Atlanta Rapper Carlos Walker better known as Shawty Lo passed away early Wednesday morning in a single car accident on I 285 in Atlanta. Fulton County police say the crash happened around 2:20 a.m. when the 2016 Audi that Shawty Lo was driving crashed over a guardrail, hit several trees and caught fire at the Cascade Road exit. The police department says the 40 year-old was ejected and died at the
scene. Two women were also in the car and were injured and taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. After initial reports of the crash were reported  it was thought to have been a hit-and-run, but Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Maureen Smith said,“It has been confirmed now that it was a single car accident.” His manager confirmed the news on Shawty Lo's Twitter account putting out a statement. ( Below with others reactions) From Ms. Street Cred directly I am sending out my condolences to his family and friends. I can only imagine what they all are going through.May his soul rest in peace. I definitely will miss the music that this man made and I hate that the rap community taking yet another L. He will truly be missed. Check out some of his most iconic visuals below.  His camp did release his final visuals last night and I will do a separate entry on "Put Some Respek On It" in the very near future.

Project Youngin X War Stories Video Bomb| W/ Rate

Growth is always a good thing and Project Youngin demonstrates progressive growth. This track is heart felt, realistic, and proves he is more than a "Project Youngin".  A year ago I would have said Youngin would need a feature to draw my attention or have dope visuals but these visual were not flashy and not in the hood. He gave me a simple video with a deeper message. I liked how the production of the video came out and Bungy Clips did his thing as far as production. The lyrical context was finally there for me. It was relatable and showed that like everyone else he goes through things. He has hopes and dreams. Expectations for Youngin? More songs that grab at the heart. This is by far my favorite track from Project Youngin and I hope that he continues to evolve as a more lyrical artist. Check out the visuals for War Stories Freestyle below as well as my rate for this entry.

Song Bomb: JF X King Phy| Fever W/ Rate

Produced by Chris Prythm, the production is the foundation that sets the tone for the Hip Hop vibe that Jack Fletcher embodies. Featuring "Trappin Outta Space" mastermind King Phy Da Beast. The mash up between both artist couldn't be more opposite but King Phy took on an entirely different sound in this track. It was as if Jack Fletcher gave a little of his artistry to bring another persons inner hip hop vibe to the table.Given the countries on going battle with the Black Lives Matter movement and the countless American civilians being assassinated by those who are sworn in to serve and protect us seems like the fuel behind the track. What Fever are we exactly trying to catch and or avoid. Is it the Fever of rising up or is it the fever of those that are sleeping during such a prevalent time. The cover art for the track is dope. It depicts a riot participant with a gas mask and a strong Black Power fist as officers stand off in the background in protective gear. These past two years have been the most racially driven with the murders of unarmed black people. We will never forget Oscar Grant, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Mike Brown, Eric Garner and countless other's that have lost their lives. One day we will rise up above our crooked government and we will win. All these deaths will not be in vain. Jack Fletcher serves a double dose of lyrical content as well as witty  punch lines that will definitely have the wheels in the brains of listeners turning. It is political, it is raw, it is current. This is what hip hop is about story telling while bringing awareness and I believe Jack does that time and time again. It is never something you've heard before he is always up on the times. I want all who have taken time to read this entry to really listen to the words of Fletcher and really get into his message. Check out the audio below a long with my rate for this track.

Princess Nokia| Young Girls|Video Bomb W/o Rate

Destiny Frasqueri formally known as Wavy Spice, who also performs in a collaborative duo known as  Princess Nokia released a video entitled Young Girls almost a year ago. The thing I love most about music is that it's never dated. You can always stumble across something new and bring it back. I was so glad to discover such a precious gem. "Young Girls" feature young women and girls all of different racial backgrounds living a peaceful carefree life, in a serene oasis. You can gather your own perception of the video but I am glad to see the light tones fade to darker tones. The tribal attire and paint markings upon their faces is like that of a village. The vibe of the song mixed with the visuals puts you just in a dope vibe. I am so glad I found this video. This is woman empowerment if I ever did see it. Please check out the dope visuals. And check out more from Destiny Frasqueri.

JAY RAW ft. Famous Kid Smoothie| "Why They Hating" Video Bomb w/ Rate

Directed by Bungy Clips, Jay Raw and Famous Kid Smoothie (Smooth Hines) link up for " Why They Hating" I like the message and while I am not familiar with Jay Raw I definitely think he could be a good rapper with much more practice. The scenes that were captured, were beautiful but I wasn't sold on the talent aspect. It is more to rapping than accurate punch lines and a known face in your video. Everybody can't rap and while I am not completely impressed with the rapping the message was understood but the concept was lost. I wish more artist would put real thought into their concepts and really embody their music further with the visuals. What does this song mean to you? Show Me! Well check out my rate below as well as the video.

Pine County Finest 2| Project Youngin & Teo Mixtape Review

Yooooooooooooooooo! Hat's off to everyone behind this project. I am not worthy!

I am so glad to have the opportunity to check this out. And it was Mamazin! These two

particular artist can leave music listeners a little bias as I have played music by both on

Hood Watch as well as featured them on here. While some are bias, I am a fan of Teo and

I am not a fan to many. I enjoy Project Youngin's artistry and find there young and fresh

feel to real rap appealing. I loved that they incorporated tracks that real fans should be

familiar with like "She Ready" which is one of my favorites, "Won't Change" and that

definite crank " Right Der". I love the cover art it was epic. The DJ Hosting's are great, and

each DJ's individual identity showed and help these gentlemen produce a great project.

I am so glad to share this with real rap lovers, This is something you need to keep in your

car. This is that mixtape you slide to on a beautiful day. The content is aimed towards

those that can relate to the reality in the streets, Given there are hoods, projects, and

ghettos across the globe it should touch all. These two artist should definitely be in your

line of sight if not this is me forcing them upon you.  Get with the  movements

#YNR90sGang & #TenHunnit  because  #StreetCredFuckinWitEm. As this was emailed to

me I currently do not have any links to direct you to but if you are in the city hit up the

artist to get your copy. And when an appropriate link is available I will update.

Zell Heff| Drug Abuse Video Bomb w/ Rate

Well I am always happy to share Zell Heff's work as it is always right up my alley. He dropped the official video for his song " Drug Abuse" and with the crazy mind of videographer J WALKAWALKA you should expect it to embody the feel of drug abuse. While I am not a supporter of drug use to a certain extent I can see how this song topic can be relevant as the apparent use of cough syrup and other widely used recreational drugs are now at the forefront of current rap and hip-hop trends. He definitely is honest and I can always count on Zell to come with a fire message. I enjoyed the visuals and thoughtfully listened to Zell's words. The downtown sights and the behind the scenes were an added bonus as it aren't too many people concerned with actual behind the scene content. I guess music videos are getting shorter or either the song but I wished it was longer, I suppose with these 15 second videos in social media we just shorten everything now. This song will definitely be added to my personal playlist. Please take a moment to check out the latest visuals from St. Petersburg artist Zell Heff below. And of course my rate for him is below as well. Enjoy!
