#BubbleOnDeck:Tamara Bubble|Spotlight Artist

#BubbleOnDeck

Tamara Bubble is a rapper/ singer/song writer who was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is a female rapper with a long list of achievements with a strong background in the church.Songwriting is what gave Tamara her push to enter in this male dominated industry and since a small child she had been singing in church. When she first started her ambitious pursuits she was more focused on modeling and acting until she met a producer at a photo shoot and she had the opportunity to sing for him. He asked her if she wrote music as well and right there on the spot she said "I do now" after leaving the photo shoot she promptly went home and wrote 10 songs and from there she was hooked. Her stage name is comprised of her middle name and the word Bubble which sheds light on her bubbly personality along with her prized asset. Finding influences from her early exposure to singing in church her Gospel background gives her a soulful presence. She loves harmonies so her musical influences took a direct hit towards all 90's R&B groups like Brownstone, SWV, En Vogue, 702, 112 ,Jodeci, and Boyz II Men.(To name a few) She credits her Rap influence to Biggie Smalls,"he's the reason that I respect lyricism in hip hop and I love his storytelling and flow." Tamara even credits Ella Fitzgerald for her love of Jazz and why she still scats even today. She credits Michael Jackson's overall stage performance as her reason to love Pop. She considers herself the ultimate blend of Pop, R&B, Jazz, Soul, and Hip Hop. She makes music that defies all genres. And with her raw vocals and heartfelt emotions backing her Tamara Bubble is able to create timeless hits that will transcend for years to come. Tamara has appeared in the Boston Globe, On NBC TV and is the host of her own online show called "U Gon Get Got". She has opened for major acts including but not limited to Lil Mo, Joell Ortiz, Cassidy, Snootie Wild, Yo Gotti, and Young Thug.(To name a few) She has also performed at the A3C Hip Hop festival, iMusic Festival, Southport Spring Festival and The Apollo Theater. Q & A with Tamara Bubble

[MSC]:
Has the achievements you've received made you more noticed by your peers?

[Tamara Bubble]:"
Yes, definitely. My peers already respect my work and many are fans too, but the accolades help in terms of collab requests and networking. I intentionally have not done any collabs (with mainstream / indie) on any of my projects because I do so much. My range is from Baritone to Soprano. I work with and blend so many genres so I wanted to be able to showcase ALL of what I do so people are fully aware of the BUBBLE, but they're seeking me out and showing love and it's really dope!

[MSC]:Who do you make your music for and why?
[Tamara Bubble]: I make a music buffet for life's problems! I'm that friend you can come to and ask anything on any touchy subject ... whether it's about clubbing, love, sex, relationships, suicide, crime, stereotypes, politics, current events, and more! There's no limit to what I won't talk about and my concepts are powerful, comical and sexy so my catalog has something you can dance to, cry to, laugh to, and make babies to 😉 ... all things bubbly, of course.
[MSC]:
Out of all the features you've done is there any you wish you hadn't done?
[Tamara Bubble]:
lol I never want any regrets and music chemistry is something you can't predict so I welcome the collabs, but like I said earlier I haven't done any features on my work or projects because I'm still in the process of revealing my full sound and all that I'm capable of. As far as features on other artists' projects ... they go through my management first (contact form on my official webbie TamaraBubble.com) and once the business make sense it's #BubbleOnDeck 🙂 so the music is gonna be popping.
[MSC]: Besides music what are some business ventures you're interested in just as much or more than music?
[Tamara Bubble]:
Well I'm also an actress, model, TV host, and pod-caster. I have an online TV show "U Gon Get Got" where we expose scammers in entertainment. I do it to give back to the indie community because there's no gatekeeper or resumes in entertainment. Anybody can just build a website, set up an email and a pay pal and start preying on the up and coming dreamers. I have a video podcast (on my youtube.com/tamarabubble) called "Bubble On Deck" where I talk about random topics ... all things bubbly and another podcast in connection with UGonGetGot that give advice and tips for newbies in entertainment. If that isn't enough lol I develop jingles, commercials, music licensing for businesses and even do a little consulting in my spare time ... If there's ever any lol. Those brand building services are on my Tamara Bubble Entertainment sister site http://allthingsbubbly.biz But to be truthfully honest, I'm not interested in anything more than I'm interested in music. I'm writing new material EVERYDAY and just as eager to record it, rehearse it, promote it and perform it! #BubbleOnDeck

Spotlight Artist| Paublo Patrick

Despite the all to familiar scenario of being brought up by a single parent, St.Petersburg,Fl native and local rap newcomer Paublo Patrick has dealt with his share of life woes. Being one of 7 Paublo has dealt with the unpredictability of life early on. From the death of his mom who died when he was just 8 years old and then transitioning to being raised by his grandparents. Like most rappers there is a path that one took and the territory that comes with the Street life has gotten him in a few situations resulting in a grazed head from a bullet, programs designed to deter him from prison and even a few stints in the county jail. Despite his rough start, three years ago Paublo Patrick made the conscious decision to put his focus on something that everyone could relate to, music. In the 2011- 2012 year he started out as a duo along side his cousin called 2 Gutta  they both decided to join a larger group of artist who were spear headed by Mareese Speights and his  BPM group. Due to visionary differences Paublo left and joined Aleem at Paper Up Ent but later left due to a short stint in jail in the 2013-2014 year and upon his release in Decemeber decide to in his words keep it real with himself and the people and decided to be be himself and  pursue a solo career. Even though he isn't signed with anyone and is technically a free agent in the rap game, he is now affilated with the 10 Hunnit movement which is home to St.Pete artists Young Teo,Florida Missle, & TMoe. Prior to being Paublo Patrick he went by the moniker PDub aka Mr. IDGAF. It was a nickname that he had been called since he was 13 and he still goes by dub in the hood. He used the name Paublo as like a new born of Paul Patrick and has been running with Paublo Patrick ever since.  When asked about his music he says "My goal is to touch those who have been through hard and rough times. Those who have experienced some of the things I have and haven't." Given that he is just three years in he is a driven unpredictable individual when it comes to his craft. His  "Lifes a Struggle Vol. 2" dropped  December 26 of last year. He has blessed the listeners with an official single off his current  project "Lifes a Struggle Vol. 1"  titled "3921" Which is where Paublo says it all started. It is the address of his grandparents home where he grew up and the place that played a major role in his life. "3921" is his biggest project to date.  In the last few months Paublo has been doing shows, video shoots, promo at clubs and in the studio working on his upcoming mixtape. He has been building an extensive collection of his music and has videos via youtube under his previous stage name "Pdub as well as under Paublo. He did a mixtape with BPM called "Will I Make It." which has a video called " Can't Fuck With Me" with Lil Shad & TMoe both gracing the track as well as a project still in the process with Blood Raw. He also has a few unreleased tracks that may or may not get heard but it's apparent that Paublo Patrick is working and growing momentum as he has been working on the Video for an upcoming track called "Ride On'em" Be on the look out for this young and fresh new artist as he adds to the stable of growing rap artist out of St.Petersburg FL.

Q & A with Paublo Patrick
[MSC]: Since starting out how has the music game been good or bad for you?
[Paublo Patrick]: With the music game, it seems lonely as hell. Some like you, and some just don't know why they don't like you. So, Good or Bad- more like Hot or Not. Worthy or Unworthy. Seems like they all want someone they can get over on. But uses they talent for show.

[MSC]: I see you have been affiliated with a few different camps, do you get criticized for being a flip flopper?

[Paublo Patrick]:You know things get back to you in this small place. Of course I hear things in songs around the way, but it's never direct, so I just let it blow in the wind.

[MSC]: What artist in the game inspired you to pursue rapping?

[Paublo Patrick]: My big homies were 2Pac fans. I came up on Boosie & Webbie. Boosie reminds me of 2Pac. He used to talk right through me. I'm inspired by them & now Kevin Gates. I can say da same about Gates. "Real Recognizes Real"

[MSC]:What do you hope to accomplish outside of being an artist?

[Paublo Patrick]: I Pray and Hope to Become a Successful Black Man in This World and Lifetime, Period. "Straight, Get What You Put In!"

Q & A with Five Drexler

[M$C]: What do you strive to accomplish through your music

[FIVE DREXLER]: Originally it was just an outlet to express myself and something to do for fun. Over the years I’ve realized the power and responsibility that comes with it. I want to reach people, educate and/or entertain.

[M$C]: Is working with a network of artist and producers sometimes a challenge?

[FIVE DREXLER]: It can be, depending on the task and the artists. Haven't had anything too difficult as of yet.

[M$C]: What was your hardest project to complete?

[FIVE DREXLER]: Probably "The Forecast" my new project. Its very thorough and has alot of different styles / sub genres in it. Along with the expectations for better media and marketing, its been the most strenuous project I've made. But definitely worth it, I’m very happy with the results.

[M$C]: Do you consider yourself a stereotypical white rapper?

[FIVE DREXLER]: I don't consider myself a stereotypical rapper at all, let alone a stereotypical white rapper. Although I sometimes do club / high energy songs, the majority of my content is conscious, real life events and deep lyricism.

Meet A - Block:
He is a musician based out of Germany. While growing up, music has always been a part of his life and will always be in it. His rap career was set to start, when he was rapping to one of his favorite songs, and a random guy attention was caught by A-Block's skills. He told A-Block that his delivery was so great, that he should become a rapper. A-Block questioned himself and felt so confident that he started his journey to become one of the best musicians to come out of the Germany area. Around late 2007, A-Block was on Myspace listening to songs and also networking with a few artist. He ran into another musician by the name of Joshua Davis (Tony Tone Montana). Him and Tony Tone talked for hours and formed a tight friendship, which led him a position in Black City Hustla Records LLC.
A-Block is on a mission for success and will not let nothing come in his way to get it. What sets him apart from other musicians, is that he brings not only his story to the game but also tell stories that his fans can relate. The songs that he produces, not only influences others to the point where they cry, but also to where they think that they are the ones who are spitting the lyrics. He also shows his sense of humor and is not afraid to show or tell what he is feeling. He writes music to express his feelings, in a positive way, instead of committing crimes.

In conclusion, A-Block hopes that his songs can help others, whenever they are feeling down, to let them know they're not alone. He encourages everyone to be true to themselves and also if they have a dream, make them come to reality.

Meet T- Dub:
Born in Monroe, Louisiana and raised in Tallulah, Louisiana. T.Davis (T-Dub) is known to be a great musician, Even thought he was known as "Tony Tone Montana's lil bro" he set his own path to follow and started to do his thing as a successful artist with a wild party mood. His songs are mostly meant for clubs and stage performance and that's why he rules the industry now.
Meet Tony Tone Montana:
Joshua Davis is an American musician. Tony Tone Montana is named after the infamous fictional character from the movie “Scar face”, Tony Montana. Tony Tone Montana brings a unique southern style that produces a form of cocaine to the ears , that keeps his “fiends” (Fans) asking for more of his product. Even though both Tony Montana’s are different, they both shared similarities to be bosses and also to own the world.

Spotlight Artist- The Man With Faux Pas[ ABR]

Mastermind, Scientist, Creative, and Effortless Genius, are all the attributes that come to mind when I think of Alec Burnright. He is ½ of CLP Nation which is a blog platform for other indie artist and mainstream artist. They also showcase technology, and other dope topics. Besides heading a blog site, he is an artist above all else. I first discovered Alec Burnright on one of CLP Nations affiliated artist Charli Funk’s song, Clique.  When I first heard him he was BNyce but I soon found out that BNyce was Alec Burnright. Hence his catchy line… “I use to Bnyce until I learned to Burn Right.” From there on out I have not only supported ABR but the entire CLP Nation movement. He is what should be playing on the radio but because of watered down, mainstream artist; the world according to our society wouldn’t be able to handle his raw and uncut interpretation of how the world really is. He plays upon intelligence well and his subject matter is definitely something that will have you searching google and the library for answers. He doesn’t sugarcoat a thing and is proud to poke back at critics. He recently dropped his rendition of Drake’s Trophies and My God! Can someone please get him on MTV jams with the likes of Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and any other rapper that is actually saying something real? Even though he says what most people are afraid to say about our country or about worldly issues he sometimes switches up his approach by banging out a nice club single. He is definitely someone that should be on heavy rotation on majority of real hip hop and rap listener’s playlist. Did I forget to mention that besides heading a blog and being an artist he is also a dope producer. Alec Burnright has opened for AfroMan, Machine Gun Kelly and Nappy Roots. With CLP Nation rising in numbers he continues to network and grow in the indie-ground scene. He credits inspiration from Buju Banton to A$AP Rocky to your favorite indie artist. He is diverse in his love for music and you never know what he will drop next with his Island roots and his love for dope lyricist like himself.
When asked who Alec Burnright sounds like, many are often stumped, stating that the sounds of CLP Nation's Jamaican-born, Miami-bred flagship recording artist and producer Alec Burnright are both unique and refreshing. His newest project The Man With Faux Pas #TMWFP drops 3.15.14.
When you get done here please check out Alec Burnright and his blog site CLPNation.com.
--M$C

[Q & A with ABR]

1.M$C: I know you use to Bnyce until you learned to Burnright... Why the name change?
ABR: I came up with the name b nyce when I first started rapping. It was simple and sounded cool enough. Over the years though I noticed a lot of B Nyce's and strange variations of it. 2 nyce, d nyce, z nyce, nyce nyce, it just started to feel mad corny and trite. so in an effort to show people I should be taken more seriously, and to have a name I could brand as my own, I took my middle name Alec, and a play on my last name, woodburn... and just ran with that. I had actually planned this before I changed it.

2.M$C:What is your biggest accomplishment to date?
ABR: My biggest accomplishment I'd say is CLP Nation as a whole. I dont know.... everything. I started off making wack beats with my homie, doing shows with my eyes closed, and starting up a stupid blog.... to making crazy futuristic beats, having people hit me up after shows because a friend of there's dropped my name because of my performance, and our blog was recognized by HulkShare and is gaining more traction everyday, plus the team is growing and people see the movement and they want to help it roll. I would definitely say CLP Nation as a whole unit is the biggest accomplishment.

3.M$C:The Man With Faux Pas drops soon... What can listeners expect from this project?
ABR: TMWFP is in 2 words: Conscious Trap. People love trap... they love the bass, they love the busy hi hats. People usually like to hear ignornace on those beats though. Then you have the people that like to hear about world issues and politics and enlightened topics... but usually those types of beats are uninteresting to the masses, and are only appreciated by the 'hard core hip hop heads' .... so what I wanted to do was jump on some trap shit and - of course sprinkle it with a little ignorance here and there - but even more so, sprinkle some intellect on that bitch give some ish you can think about, with a beat you can wild out too.

4.M$C:Being that you were raised in the 305, reside in the 727 and are Jamaican Born how do you balance all the musical influences in your music?
ABR: Growing up, mom dukes always had a cassette in the deck. A-side and B-side full of reggae tunes. I don't know a lot of artists names because they just had mixtapes they probably copped at the flea market but I think that's where I get alot of my rhythm... Especially in the beats I make but it definitely affects my cadence of my flow as well. My first album I ever owned, my auntie gave me... Arrested Development, "3 years....." that album I would say shaped my mind frame to the conscious side of things... but who are we kidding... I like alcohol, pussy, and weed like everybody else on this damn planet so forgive me if I dip into my jar of sin every other couple bars .... So that's where Miami booty scene comes into play thats probably where most of my ratchetness comes from, if any. Uncle Luke and all them. Before 727 it was the 352 though. We were in Gainesville for a minute. definitely had some influences from there as well. Definitely hood influences. So over the years I have been listening to and working with all different types of people and music. Now we end up in the Burg where I'm finally starting to master it all and use them all together in the right ways. Especially being right in between Tampa and the Burg, its great hearing the distinction between the two cities and the artist from both cities.

Why you Should Rock with Rell [SpotLight Artist]

Lyricist, pioneer, veteran and entrepreneur are all words that can describe
New Jersey's Rell Rock….

Sherrall Lovett A.K.A Rell Rock was born and raised in Camden, New Jersey. She began rapping at the age of 11 and dropped her first major distributed album in 2004 at the age of 14, the self-entitled album: "I'm The Truth”. She has always had her finger on Hip Hop’s pulse and credits traveling and living all over the country as a teen for her being in tune with her love for Hip Hop. She became one of the youngest rappers to release music independently on her own label Zock Rock Records. From Philly to New Jersey, Rell Rock has created a reputation of being one of the most prolific and well respected female Hip Hop artists to bless the mic. Even years after her debut release, Rell Rock has consistently found ways to reinvent herself musically, which is apparent on her mixtape. “Black Diamond” She has also used the time to expand her resume and gain new fans. In October 2012, Rell Rock released her critically acclaimed sophomore indie release “Love and Hip Hop” which featured the hit singles “Superstar” and “2-Step”. Rell Rock’s highly anticipated 3rd project “Black Diamond” was recently released exclusively on DatPiff  in September of last year. It features smash radio single “Jersey”: which was produced by Roc Nation Philly platinum producer Jahlil Beats. Rell Rock’s latest project, “Black Diamond: VVS Edition” features all new music including the single “Survive” featuring Saigon which dropped a couple days ago on 2/15/2014.  Rell Rock is here to give balance in the world of Hip Hop music keeping the true elements of lyrics, storytelling, and entertaining, but also providing inspiration and information to her community. She writes her own music and is not afraid to set herself apart from the “norm” expected in Hip Hop especially for women. Through her music, Rell Rock will prove emphatically that she has the ability to take clever words and translate them into powerful songs. After years of being courted by major record labels, Rell Rock decided to take her dreams in her own hands, and continue releasing music on her own independent record label. She has created a blueprint for the new era of female rappers and hip hop in general.

.

[Q & A]:

[M$C]How did you come up with Rell Rock as your name?
[RELL ROCK]My nickname growing up was Relly, so Rell was the first part, and the Rock part comes from my first album I did when I was 14 years old, I would “rock” the mic so to speak. Lol. Another factor was the first professional female rapper was named Sha Rock (From Funky Four + 1 who were signed to SugarHill Reocrds in 1977) way before my time, but I believe in knowing the history of hip hop is important for us as the new generation. That gave me inspiration as a female to know we play a vital role in the foundation of Hip Hop. Almost 3 decades later, I have own my own independent label, own all my masters, releasing my 4th project this spring and it feels good to try and pioneer a new movement for us female emcees/rappers.
[M$C]: Do you think it’s harder being a female in the Hip Hop scene in this era versus when Lauryn Hill or Queen Latifah stepped up as female emcees in theirs?
[RELL ROCK]: I think the women who laid the foundation definitely had it harder to be noticed in a male dominant culture/music. During the era of Lauryn Hill and Queen Latifah Hip Hop had more voices and styles then. You had the gangsta rap, the political element, the fun records, and the lyrical based emcees. When Gangsta rap got introduced and became profitable more than the other types of hip hop, people like Lil Kim and Foxy Brown (who I salute all day) started the trend of sexual based female rappers. I have love for Nicki Minaj, she def is a real emcee, but with the emergence of a lot of female rappers now on the indie scene, its going to open up and provide that variety again, and also show we don't have to be sexual based to sell records or gain fans. We all have different voices and points of views, just like the male emcees and rappers. Its looking good for us now though, we are on our way!
[M$C]: Do you have a movement and if so what is it?
[RELL ROCK]: My clique is the N.E.R.D. Gang (New Era Rap Draft) consisting of the new emcees and artist that speak from the hood with intelligence and let the younger ones coming up to know that being smart is cool and doesn't make you weak. We are all from the hood and get respect from it, but we are not endorsing the elements that destroy the community. Right now members are based in different parts of New Jersey, but we def plan on expanding worldwide.
[M$C] I see you used a lot of artist interview samples for your mixtape “Black Diamond” are those particular artist inspiration or people you look up to?
[RELL ROCK] I did that to make the listener actually get in the them of the music and the song coming. Def these are all artist that are worthy of respect, from Lauryn Hill, Redman and Rah Digga, pioneers of the New Jersey hip hop movement, KRS One, Martin Luther King, Floyd Mayweather, Will Smith, Jay Z, 50Cent,to Tupac. All had a real voice in our community and will forever be in the history books of ones to admirer and learn more about.
