Even though this video is two years old its only right that for #TBT I did a rare No rate on a few local artist from St. Petersburg. Fo-Sheezy, Franchise, and Boweeva are similar in content but all very different in their delivery. Each man displays his own persona and all compliment the song. Given that it is based off one of the most popular comedians out now "Kevin Hart" the cameos from random people saying a popular line from one of Hart's skits from his stand up "Laugh at My Pain" made the video enjoyable. I did like each artist and hope you guys enjoy this #TBT video.
Taking place mainly at a local liquor store familiar to most St. Petersburg, FL natives, Smurf the God definitely played it safe and simple in this video. Though I am not a fan of beat jackers and admire original productions to accompany original lyrics, I loved his lyrical content. This is the type of music I could ride through the city and just vibe to. The content was realistic and relatable to those living that type of life. The visual content matched what he was talking about and the additional locations for the video were ok, again playing it safe. Due to the fact that I am a stickler for details I did notice that the editor of the video nor Smurf payed attention to the spelling of the song when it came on during the opening. Besides grammatical mistakes I enjoyed the visuals and even though this video dropped November of last year it's still worth a check out. Tampa artist ShowOut Tripz dropped his new single " I Deserve You" a few weeks ago and I must say, I really like the song. I became familiar with Tripz after I checked out his mixtape "Band Camp". That mixtape included the single "Eat It Like Cake" which is a popular song to twerk to and "L.O.V. (Lingo)" which is one of my favorites off the mixtape. Tripz is back with something that beats the speakers silly thanks to Average Kid and even though he states clearly in his hook that he isn't trying to be cocky this song has cocky written all over it. The beat compliments this song well and I'm not mad with the blatant auto tune feel, it too compliments the song well and adds something different for Tripz. I've heard him say some real ish and I've heard him motivate some epic ass shaking. This song wasn't anything like his typical twerk song or his relatable advice he gives his listeners about loyalty. I did not feel like shaking my ass. I felt like I should be vibing in someone club, dressed like a boss, with the flyest man in the world on my arm. Paublo Patrick and I after finishing "The Interview"
Mr. Idgaf dropped a video for his single "Ride On Em" while I see where he was trying to go with the opening of the video, it really didn't convey during the video. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him the day the video was shot and he is a really humble, down to earth, and cool dude. You're everyday street rapper is riding down on someone about their issue and Paublo Patrick delivers that presentation flawlessly in his lyrical content. Though the video could have had a more extended visual concept to accompany the lyrical content it was a good video. The 10 Hunnit movement was definitely present in the video, while I only recognized Teo, I am more than sure that a few more recognizable faces are there. I liked that besides the cliche' club scene with the entourage he had a dressed down outside scene that portrayed a wild, fuck some shit up demeanor. It was cool and showed that unlike how he was first presented dressed in a dope fit that he could turn down the swag and get dirty. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see what this Australian female rapper brought to the table. I'm not even gonna lie, I was expecting to hear Iggy yet I got more of that Aussie tongue and her swag is cute. I loved the girlie aspects she brought to the video and really appreciated the usage of the bandanna, the gold chain, and the sunglasses that she sported. The video was so dope meets international. The valleys and hills reminded me of an area on GTA so from the start I was locked in and the city line shot was cool, it's always nice to see rooftop shots. I loved the concept even though it was typical for a female artist. The tub scene at this point is cliche and the lip stick on the mirror is a recycled act. I checked her out after Rah Digga made a reference to her in an interview with Thisis50 Radio that involved her opinion of Iggy Azalea (also from Australia). Despite the all to familiar scenario of being brought up by a single parent, St.Petersburg,Fl native and local rap newcomer Paublo Patrick has dealt with his share of life woes. Being one of 7 Paublo has dealt with the unpredictability of life early on. From the death of his mom who died when he was just 8 years old and then transitioning to being raised by his grandparents. Like most rappers there is a path that one took and the territory that comes with the Street life has gotten him in a few situations resulting in a grazed head from a bullet, programs designed to deter him from prison and even a few stints in the county jail. Despite his rough start, three years ago Paublo Patrick made the conscious decision to put his focus on something that everyone could relate to, music. In the 2011- 2012 year he started out as a duo along side his cousin called 2 Gutta they both decided to join a larger group of artist who were spear headed by Mareese Speights and his BPM group. Due to visionary differences Paublo left and joined Aleem at Paper Up Ent but later left due to a short stint in jail in the 2013-2014 year and upon his release in Decemeber decide to in his words keep it real with himself and the people and decided to be be himself and pursue a solo career. Even though he isn't signed with anyone and is technically a free agent in the rap game, he is now affilated with the 10 Hunnit movement which is home to St.Pete artists Young Teo,Florida Missle, & TMoe. Prior to being Paublo Patrick he went by the moniker PDub aka Mr. IDGAF. It was a nickname that he had been called since he was 13 and he still goes by dub in the hood. He used the name Paublo as like a new born of Paul Patrick and has been running with Paublo Patrick ever since. When asked about his music he says "My goal is to touch those who have been through hard and rough times. Those who have experienced some of the things I have and haven't." Given that he is just three years in he is a driven unpredictable individual when it comes to his craft. His "Lifes a Struggle Vol. 2" dropped December 26 of last year. He has blessed the listeners with an official single off his current project "Lifes a Struggle Vol. 1" titled "3921" Which is where Paublo says it all started. It is the address of his grandparents home where he grew up and the place that played a major role in his life. "3921" is his biggest project to date. In the last few months Paublo has been doing shows, video shoots, promo at clubs and in the studio working on his upcoming mixtape. He has been building an extensive collection of his music and has videos via youtube under his previous stage name "Pdub as well as under Paublo. He did a mixtape with BPM called "Will I Make It." which has a video called " Can't Fuck With Me" with Lil Shad & TMoe both gracing the track as well as a project still in the process with Blood Raw. He also has a few unreleased tracks that may or may not get heard but it's apparent that Paublo Patrick is working and growing momentum as he has been working on the Video for an upcoming track called "Ride On'em" Be on the look out for this young and fresh new artist as he adds to the stable of growing rap artist out of St.Petersburg FL.

[MSC]: Since starting out how has the music game been good or bad for you? [Paublo Patrick]: With the music game, it seems lonely as hell. Some like you, and some just don't know why they don't like you. So, Good or Bad- more like Hot or Not. Worthy or Unworthy. Seems like they all want someone they can get over on. But uses they talent for show. [MSC]: I see you have been affiliated with a few different camps, do you get criticized for being a flip flopper? [Paublo Patrick]:You know things get back to you in this small place. Of course I hear things in songs around the way, but it's never direct, so I just let it blow in the wind. [MSC]: What artist in the game inspired you to pursue rapping? [Paublo Patrick]: My big homies were 2Pac fans. I came up on Boosie & Webbie. Boosie reminds me of 2Pac. 2015 couldn't have started any better with all these dope female artist ending 2014 just right. Below you will find mainly female rappers but will come across a couple female singers that I can't get enough of. Top 10 will definitely have you googling a few of them while the video concepts below will have future artist trying to up there video concept game. Given my busy schedule I hardly ever make it to sound cloud on my own to explore unless I see someone post about it via social media. Well I am proud to say that for once I just wanted to catch up on what I had missed. During this musical catch up session I was pleasantly surprised at all the new music but one song by one particular artist became embedded into my musical rolodex. Zell Heffner released a new sound a few days ago and I have since acquired the mp3 for the radio and have added it to my personal playlist. The songs production is an added bonus as it aids in the delivery of the content.Zell gives you a look into the heart of a confident good guy who is being not only reassuring to his female but is also letting her know what he has to offer compared to her past relationship. I love what I'd like to call a "Hood R&B" song. It's definitely a track for the ladies and I definitely want you guys to be on the look out for his upcoming mixtape "No Regrets" coming real soon! Orlando's Big Trin is back with another video and it is definitely on the other side of the spectrum versus his video "Dreams" which you can check out here Dreams. I definitely liked the change and it wasn't what I expected to hear. It is definitely a go getta/ money making anthem. It's setting is something similar to what you can see in a mainstream artist's video. It was a club or party vibe that everyone can relate to. It features pretty faces, cameos from the MBM crew and Big Trin throwing plenty of money. I could see this video on MTV Jams as it is catchy and relatable. It will definitely add to a party playlist and I would suggest that a few DJ's honestly consider playing this during their next set. Although the scenario was familiar it was clear he conveyed exactly what he was rapping about. He's Been Ballin. It was nice to see a different side of him. Well this here video is the first of many as it is not suitable for your kids. So don't be wide screening this video and then blame Ms.Street Cred for corrupting your children. Lil Debbie formally of the White Girl Mob that featured rappers Kreayshawn and V-nasty. If you visit YouTube there is a plethora of videos featuring her as well as her own independent work. What stood out most about this video was the blatant raunchy behavior on a beach which, I wasn't surprised at the fact she was rapping, she does have a few decent videos. This video will most likely be enjoyed by my male fans as it features a scantily clad Lil Debbie in a bathing suit doing booty controls and twerking.
