Al Capone! ... Master Pow!

Ok so I am writing this post as I listen to Master P's Al Capone mixtape on datpiff.... First thing that comes to mind is... WTF!!! P back!? ICDC commercials with his kids must have put the spark back in him. I am happy I decided to indulge in datpiff tonight.  ---Blog Post Below

First off Master P has been doing his thing for years and when I think New Orleans, I think of Master P off top. He has been a favorite of mine since I heard Burbans and Lacs. After that exposure I wanted to hear more. He has had some songs that I thought were straight flops and failed attempts at reviving and staying relevant. Yet in Al Capone, Master P has incorporated current rappers, with similar rapping styles to his, but each with their own gritty depiction of  hood life to bring it all together. I think that was a good idea. I love that even though to me he had toned down a lot, Master P was still able to bring the gritty verses he had been producing years ago. I think he has tried to add a little bit of what rap consist of today yet remaining true to what he had already done. He definitely deserves the recognition and I appreciate seeing a rapper of his caliber, coming to show the young bucks how its done.I must say Master P has given me another R&B remixer. :) [GANGSTA'S NEED LOVE TOO]. It really doesn't get any better than hearing an artist flip something and makes it into something else.BUT!!! The original is definitely the best version. Here's my favorites, shiiiit let me know what you thought.

Popped a Molly...

I'm sweating Whoo! So this guy with the name Trinidad James, hmm creativity is a check and his personal style is definitely something recycled with his appearance resembling Jerome from Martin. Yet I have been feeling some kind of way about the future of hip hop and rap in general. With that being said even though All Gold Everything is kinda hot... Ok, ok I have been listening to it daily, but where are these dudes coming from?! I'm definitely considering becoming a rapper it's really too easy. On another note though I have been actually sitting down debating on who I like as a rapper and even determining the million dollar questions, Who is my favorite rapper? Why? Who I'm listening to now. So I decided to take the time tonight and answer these questions.

I have to say that my favorite rapper that is out right now and has been out, has to be Nas, he's classic and timeless, it just gets no better. He lyrically takes me to another place. He makes me want to pick up a damn book literally and read it cover to cover. He is Hip Hop and his message is genuine and raw. Now if we talking about what is getting me hype and a little less mentally stimulated I have to go with Future it's something about the man that screams listen to me. He reminds me of T-Pain when he came out with Auto Tunes and T-Pain was on everybody song. Future is killing it right now and I don't see him stopping anytime soon.

Now as far as who I'm listening too, I would definitely have to say my music genre is mostly consumed with some 2012 joints. If I had to pull three songs though that I can't get enough of they would have to be ...

"Picture Perfect" Juvenile feat Lil Wayne & Birdman
Somewhere way back in my mind, I wish the Hot Boyz would get back together and work that old shit out. Then I remember that shit would never happen. I guess I will have to settle with here and there collabos' from the ex members of the best Rap group ever formed.
"Baby Wipes" Gucci Mane
I don't have much to say about Gucci, I like the song. He definitely makes catch songs, but his logic and unnecessary shit starting makes it hard to like him.
"All Gold Everything" Trinidad James
I already said my piece with Mr. James, he got me smh but bobbing at the same damn time.

Been really digging deep for Florida artist and I think I found a few that just might make my top 10 of 2013. Come through soon to check out Ms. Street Creds top 10 of 2013 and her Top 20 of 2012. Looking for artist to check out, review, or even feature in an upcoming post.
